Why bumps on Keyboard?

                                   

     Often most of us come across many minor details that go unnoticed in our daily routine. And the day when we discover these things we feel amazed and some of us try to trace back to the origin or scientific reason behind it. In this modern era, all most everyone uses computers in one or the other way and no one can escape from keyboards and mouse. And one such thing with keyboard went unnoticed by most of us.

                   Is there anyone who has used a computer but never saw the keyboard? Everyone uses the keyboard in their day-to-day life but many of us do not notice the fine details of it. Since the evolution of keyboards there have been many ways it has developed to provide comfort to us, one such thing is the ridges on the keyboard.

Typing Speed     

            Our typing speed depends upon the placement of fingers on the keyboard and use of fingers is essential while typing.  Keys with bumps are located on a single row and this row is called the 'Home Bar'.

         For better speed and accuracy, Home Bar has been made convenient. They are located in such a position that it helps the typist and makes the typing process a lot easier.






















The Ideal Position

                The home bar is an ideal position for placing fingers while typing which improves the speed of typing and it helps to reach all the reaming keys easily

                  

         

The two letters: 'F' and 'J' have a tiny horizontal ridge or bump at their bottom Do you know why?

Is it still necessary?

             Okay so bumps are very common and we don't even notice. So some might argue do we still need them? Well, bumps don't take space and are unnoticed most of the time so I feel there is nothing bad in having them.
